IE7 WONT SHOW ANIMATED gif'S

I cant get IE7 to show some Animated GIF'S in some websites. I have XP on my
PC and normal fixed GIF's are no problem but animated ones dont even always
show a placeholder.

I have changed and tested many internet options including active x's and
ensured show animated is checked in Advanced tab, but no luck.

The problem also is with Affiliates acting as hosts but whose code comes
through the same distributor website, whose code i download, copy and paste
into my site and then publish to internet.

The image doesnt come up in dreamweaver design mode, nor in IE preview thru
dreamweaver, and doesnt show on the actually published site when viewed on my
PC. However, when i transfer the whole local site file via my network, to my
laptop which also has XP and IE7, everything works fine.

I have also navigated the public sites fine on 4 other pc's on 2 other
networks, and everything works fine and the images source fine through the
code i have entered on my pc; they just dont show on my pc.

I have Norton Personal Firewall on my PC but there is no msg from Norton and
I have even turned NPF off with no change in result.

Although Dreamweaver picks up some problems with the code re things like
upper case errors in OnMouseOver and <A> etc and small formatting errors like
the code not closing off img statement before </a> closure which it must do
for some browsers to accept, which i have changed, but Dreamweaver doesnt
pick up any img src problems at all

Can anyone shed any light on this problem please?

HI,

One other thing you must restart your computer after disabling NPC. (When
enabled you should see a dialog during startup that Norton is loading the
Productivity controls.)

Re: IE7 WONT SHOW ANIMATED gif'S

Hi Rob,

I recd your first reply before, asking about hosts, but didnt receive any
subsequent indications of any steps i could take to resolve based on my
original post from 11 june and my subsequent reply to your first reply, which
is why i posted again. Apologies if u posted, but i couldnt see any
subsequent posts.

The info u have posted this time looks like it may be a go-er. I will do the
download and look at fiddler. Thanks for you time and advice.

regards, Rob (also) /Rexyboy
