Unable to open www.google.com

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am unable to open www.google.com on my notebook, but I could open it
before I took it with me for a business trip last week.

I cleared all the IPs during my business trip as the hotel will assign a
dynamic IP for my notebook. I worked fine with the notebook during my stay
in the hotel. I put all the IPs back on after I returned from my business
trip. However, I am now unable to open the www.google.com. I could open
other websites with no problem at all. To work around this issue, I open it
using its IP address 64.233.167.99 instead of the website name
www.google.com. Though I can open it using its IP address, it is not the
normal way to open it.

I have deleted all the cookies, histories, temporary files, everything in
the IE 7.0. I have also disabled all of the add-ons, but it won't work. I
have logged in Windows XP Professional with another user name, but it still
won't work. Therefore, there is nothing to do with user profile.

I will appreciate it if you can sort it out for me.

Thank you for your kind attention.

sc

Check C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc for a file named HOSTS with no
extension. (Not Hosts.sam)
Make sure Windows is set to show hidden files and folders and is NOT set to
hide extensions for known file types.
If HOSTS exists, rename it to HOSTS.OLD
Reboot an try again.

Or, In a Cmd window, enter
ipconfig /flushdns
then clear your TIF also, and re-boot.
