Re: CTRL CLICK Problem in IE7 - can I revert to IE6
Is it possible to disable this "CTRL-click" functionality? I have an ASP
application that I access via IE7. One of the functions that should be available is to select multiple non-consecutive items from a list. However, when I now attempt this, I instead get a new browser window. The "SHIFT-click" function still works correctly for consecutive items. A work around would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Joel "Robert Aldwinckle" wrote: > "ahmurray" <ahmurray@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message > news:88573081-CBEF-474C-ADAA-C73528B4F707@microsoft.com... > > Hi ppl, > > > > Did a quick search on here and it seems there is no way to disable the CTRL > > CLICK option to open up new windows. > > > Ctrl-Click when used on links in a page rendered by an IE7b2 browser > launches it in a new tab. Re: CTRL CLICK Problem in IE7 - can I revert to IE6
Have you tried running IE in no add-ons mode? I've just tested IE7 here with
a select list on a form and Ctrl+left click for multiple selections works fine. This suggests that you might have something else running that is capturing the Ctrl+left click and making it work differently than MS intended. Do you have Google Toolbar installed by any chance? Or another toolbar add-on? Re: CTRL CLICK Problem in IE7 - can I revert to IE6
Oh, I did find one reference to this occurring even with all add-ons
disabled in respect of using multiple monitors with an nVidia graphics card, it seems that the nVidia drivers hook the Ctrl+left click handling to deal with allowing windows to be opened on a different monitor than the one IE is on. You can disable this by removing the following line in the system startup using msconfig.exe rundll32.exe nview.dll,nViewLoadHook However, this will disable all nVidia key shortcuts.
