Macromedia Flash Player 8

Using WinXP Pro w/all updates and Internet Explorer 7. Some IE pages
indicate I can view movie trailers if I install Macromedia Flash Player 8.
So I download Macromedia Flash Player 8 and install but it will not do
anything.
Restarting IE7 + WinXP Pro just gets me back to where I started, nowhere.
Anyone, please help.
TIA

Re: Macromedia Flash Player 8

Get the latest flash -

1. How to uninstall the Adobe Flash Player plug-in and ActiveX control
http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/knowled...fm?id=tn_14157
Due to recent enhancements with the Flash Player installers, you are now only able to
uninstall by using the Adobe Flash Player Uninstaller

2. Then get Flash here: http://www.adobe.com/downloads/

or easy link: http://www.adobe.com/go/tn_19166

Re: Macromedia Flash Player 8

Hi,

The most current and most secure version of the Adobe||Macromedia Flash
Player is version 9.0.45.0 (Flash9c.ocx). If the procedure posted by
TaurArian does not resolve the issue, I would suggest you perform the
following procedure to get your machine set up properly with the latest
verison of Flash Player 9.

Download the following two files to your Desktop, one file is the Standalone
Flash Uninstaller program and the second file is the Standalone Flash
Installer program.

Standalone Uninstaller:
http://download.macromedia.com/pub/f...ash_player.exe
Standalone Installer:
http://www.macromedia.com/go/full_flashplayer_win_ie

After you've download the two files to your desktop, first execute the
Standalone Uninstaller program, this will completely remove Flash from your
computer, including registry entries.

Next, run the Standalone Flash installer. This will install the latest
version of the Flash Player 9.0.45.0 (Flash9c.ocx) to your system including
all necessary Registry entries.

Reboot your machine and then visit the site in question. If you are still
having problems viewing Flash at the site in question, post back with a link
to the site.

Good luck,

Donald Anadell
