I.E. 7 and Acrobat Reader 8
I am using Vista and I.E. 7, I have been trying to download Acrobat Reader 8.
It starts then the window fades and I.E.7 shuts down. I have tried everything I can think of. I've tried with Add-ons On and Add-ons Off, firewall, antivirus and other security units on and off. I just can't get Acrobat 8 to download, this is annoying since I have some PDF files/documents that I need to open (these files were in my document folder prior to upgrading to I.E.7 and installing Vista. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated. Thanks |

RE: I.E. 7 and Acrobat Reader 8
Open tools>Internet Options>General Tab
Under Browsing History click on View Objects Click on View and select details Are any of the controls listed as damaged? Right click and select Remove. If there are some with a Black Shield and Yellow Exclamation Mark inside of it, right click and remove it. Reboot Now go to Tools >Internet Options>Advanced Tab>Reset Button This will disable all toolbars, add-ons, and remove sites from trusted sites list Retry adobe download Download from here. Be sure to uncheck options i.e. google toolbar, etc.. if you do not want them installed as well. Have you tried opening the Acrobat app you have installed and updating through it? -- Gistcheckin "notsobrite" wrote: > I am using Vista and I.E. 7, I have been trying to download Acrobat Reader 8. > It starts then the window fades and I.E.7 shuts down. RE: I.E. 7 and Acrobat Reader 8
I'm new to this, so please bear with me. I also tried unsuccessfully to
download Acrobat Reader 8. I can still open .pdf files ok, but now my IE7 search results no longer turn purple on visited links and no longer turn red when I choose a link to visit. I really wish I could fix this problem. Does anyone know how? I'm using XP Pro/Service Pack 2. Re: I.E. 7 and Acrobat Reader 8
The last time that I checked, neither Adobe Reader 8 or Adobe Acrobat 8 Pro
are supported on Windows Vista. I have the Adobe Acrobat 8 Pro disk and was able to install it on my Vista Ultimate system. On our Computer Club's Vista based computers, we have downloaded and installed the Foxit Reader. It is small and fast.
