Live Chat
I have tried almost everything and now am at a complete loss, so hoping some
one out there can offer some guidance. I am trying to open the Live Chat box from - the box opens, but returns a blank or white page. Then after a few seconds it comes back with "Internet Explorer Cannot display the web site" I have checked with Web Serve - they tell me the live chat is working fine, so it must be something to do with my computer. I have checked with HP = and their live chat works fine. I have done a system restore, cleaned out internet files, deleted files, tried a utility to open IE 6 sites over IE 7 - and still nothing works. I also have same problem in Fire Fox. But everything else, all other internet sites & other live chats are working without problems. Maybe this is a security setting in my computer? I've also tried reseting IE 7 to default - but still have same problem. How do I uninstall IE7 and re-install it? I am running Vista Home Premium. Any help greatly appreciated. I really need this live chat working under . |

Re: Live Chat
Hi Karen,
Check your security zone settings for the internet zone....'Launching programs and files in an IFrame' and 'Navigate sub-frames across different domains' or add webserve.ca to your trusted zone (at your own risk). Press Ctrl-N to clone it so you can see its URL in an Address bar: > > I have checked with Web Serve - they tell me the live chat is working fine, > so it must be something to do with my computer. Try disabling all popup blockers or make sure the above host name is allowed by all popup blockers. > > But everything else, all other internet sites & other live chats are working > without problems. I am running Vista Home Premium. You don't. IE7 is integrated in that OS. Best you can do is use the Reset... command (aka RIES, on the Options, Advanced tab). > > Any help greatly appreciated. Re: Live Chat
Hi Karen,
I whent to the site and was able to access the live chat page... had a look at its source code and it is using xmlhttp Check on the Advanced tab of Internet Options for your setting for 'Enable native XMLHTTP support' I think enabling that setting should do the trick. They have code to detect if the browser is compatible with this, but it does not seem to be working or they are not displaying any sort of instructions for browsers that have this option switched off.
