Can't download files from internet using IE7 and Vista for Busines
I am very frustrated with MS at this point. I have been downloading various
files from the internet just fine, but last night I started having problems. When I click on the file and say Save As I can see the file go into my Download folder but then it immediately disappears. |

RE: Can't download files from internet using IE7 and Vista for Busines
I am having the same problem, and can find no assisance anywhere. Several ask
this question, but no one seems to have any answers. IT doesn't matter whether you click Run or Save, the file appears to be downloading just fine, and then it disappears entirely. Somebody's got to have an answer for this! "seeyalatergator" wrote: > I am very frustrated with MS at this point. Re: Can't download files from internet using IE7 and Vista for Busines
Hi,
First try clearing the Temporary Internet Files from Internet Options> General> Browsing History> Delete> (next screen)> Delete files. Are you running a third-party download manager? These can cause problems. Does the problem occur if you run IE7 in no add-ons mode? You can open IE without add-ons by right-clicking the icon on the desktop or from Programs> Accessories> System Tools. Re: Can't download files from internet using IE7 and Vista for Bus
Don, I am a different poster from the other previous posters. I, too have
been having the EXACT same problems and have been having them for some time using IE7 and Vista. I have been using FireFox without issue as the solution thus far. I'll give you a summary of the things I've tried to fix the problem: * Deleting Temporary Internet Files in IE * Using third-party programs to delete Temporary Internet Files & hidden index.dat files * Deleting Windows Temp folders * Shutting down all non-microsoft spyware/antivirus programs * Checking for viruses/spyware with NOD32, Super Anti-Spyware, Windows Defender, SpyBot S&D 1.5.2 * Upgrading motherboard to latest bios * Installing all latest chipset drivers available * Installing all Windows Updates including Vista SP1 * Running IE7 in "no addons" mode * Resetting IE7 * Running sfc /scannow in admin mode with no problems detected I am not sure what general piece of advice is left, but IE remains very broken. I try to open a file, it downloads, asks if I'm sure I want to run it and lists the company that makes it, then it disappears and does not run it. I try to save a file, it downloads, then it disappears. FireFox does not exhibit this behavior on the same machine. My system: CPU: AMD X2 4200+ Mobo: ASUS M2N32-SLI Deluxe Wireless Edition RAM: 2GB Crucial PC6400 1.8v DDR2 (also tried another set of RAM, same problem) Hard Drive: Seagate 320gb with 200GB+ of free space Video: Nvidia 7600GT w/ latest WHQL drivers Thanks...
