IE7 slow response

I have IE7 with Vista on a 3 month Dell, it has always loaded slowly, I have
9 tabs I like to have ready when I log on, I dont think this is too many.
I have ready several posts etc and they seem to point to the phishing as a
problem. I have disconnected this feature, but it still seems as slow as
always. I have the setting for auto updates so I dont think I missed any
from MS.
Can anyone help fix the problem, it seems too common.
thanks
D

=> Does this behavior persist if you start IE7 in No Add-ons mode? To start
IE7 in No Add-ons mode:

1. Right-click on the blue IE desktop icon and select Start without Add-ons;

2. Start > (All) Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Internet Explorer
(No add-ons).

Troubleshooting and Internet Explorerís (No Add-ons) Mode:

[Every enabled Add-on must load separately in each tab. If you have, e.g.,
10 enabled Add-ons, a total of 90 Add-ons must load when you open IE
currently.]

=> Does the problem persist if you Reset IE7 Settings (RIES)?
