network problem after update

I am using Windows xp sp2. I have update my window recently from window update. But after I restart my PC network connection is not appearing. When I try IPCONFIG, It display a error message "ipconfie.exe - Entry not found". Then I used system restore to resolve the issue. Now I want to install update manually again. How to choose the right updates to install from the list.

Thanks in advance.
