Re: torrent download when collage server has blocked p2p sharing
if your college proxy server has blocked it, then it would be illegal to use p2p in college/school networks unless authorized.
What torrents do you want to download in college computer ? You can request the system admin to allow download, if it's necessary.

Re: torrent download when collage server has blocked p2p sharing
None of the torrent client were working in my college.. So i used fdm (http://www.freedownloadmanager.org/) instead, it supports torrent download as well. Hope this helps.

Re: torrent download when collage server has blocked p2p sharing
If the proxy firewall is blocking your ports/connections, then there is no point in trying different torrent clients. Use HTTP-Tunnelling softwares like HTTP-Tunnel. But without proper port forwarding, the speeds will be very bad.
Best of luck. ![]()

Re: torrent download when collage server has blocked p2p sharing
it depends on how they blocked it... if they blocked you from downloading any torrent files then you can bypass that by going here
savethetorrents.com It downloads the torrent file for you and then disguises it so ur isp wont know. From there use the encryption on popular bit torrent clients like utorrent to circumvent the isp's restrictions... remember you could get in trouble and only download legal stuff! |

Re: torrent download when collage server has blocked p2p sharing
There is a way if your home PC is on:
1. Setup Dropbox on both computers. 2. You need to have uTorrent on your home PC. Do the following settings in Preferences of uTorrent: 2.1. UI Settings -> make sure "Don't start the download automatically" and "Show a window that displays..." are NOT checked. 2.2. Directories -> Put a check on "Put new downloads in:" and choose some folder IN YOUR My Dropbox folder. 2.3. Directories -> Put a check on "Automatically load .torrent files from:" and choose some folder IN YOUR My Dropbox folder. This option will make uTorrent to start downloading when a new .torrent file is added in this folder. That's it! You are done setting the computers. Now here is how this works: Dropbox is a program for syncing files between computers and mobile devices. This means if you put a file in My Dropbox folder on some of the computers, the file will be transfered to all other computers setup with Dropbox. So, when you are at school, download your .torrent file, put it in the folder you choose in 2.3., Dropbox will sync it with all other computers, meaning your PC at home will get the file and then uTorrent will start downloading it. Then it's only waiting ![]() Last edited by metal03326; 06-01-2012 at 10:55 AM.. |
