Cant Connect to Internet
Hi All,
Had a question regarding networking/ connecting to the internet on my lap top. Im running a PC as well which is using wireless right next to my lap top. For some reason I cant go online with my Lap top. I have an Vista Fujitsu Laptop. When I try to connect it says im online but with limited access (local access only) and doesnt load a start up browser. When I go into the Network options page It displays a red x between my wireless NETGEAR adapter and in the internet icon . It also is telling me I have an excellent connection. I also have a WEP enabled and have entered the right password for it. I have tried most trouble shooting for vista so I really dont know much more I can do. Can someone help fix this problem? Thank you! |

Re: Cant Connect to Internet
You don't do it like that. either open cmd.exe and run ipconfig /all or run this :
Code:
ipconfig /all > c:\laptop-ipconfig.txt in your PC : Code:
ipconfig /all > c:\pc-ipconfig.txt |

Re: Cant Connect to Internet
Hi madhung your laptop is actually not connected to the Wireless network.
"Wireless LAN adapter Wireless Network Connection: Media State . . . . . . . . . . . : Media disconnected" So Your computer is not getting any valid IP address; "Windows IP configuration". Recommendations: 1. Clear the saved wireless networks on your Wireless utility(I hope u know the wireless key) 2. Refresh the network list 3. Reconnect to the wireless network It will work |

Re: Cant Connect to Internet
I heard the same problem with Norton Internet Security and Norton 360. When the subscription days are over the firewall on these products blocks the smooth wireless data transfer. But Norton AntiVirus usually don't create wireless issues as it doesn't have firewall feature.
