Re: BYPASS K9 Web Protection Filter / Blocker

K9 is good! I can' t connect to ANY proxy server sites, no matter what i do. Won't even let me access ANYTHING related to Proxy Avoidance." Tried to access certain websites via the "cache pages" NO DICE. This thing (K9 Web Protection) is like a wall 10 feet thick! Can't seem to break it! Everything has a weakness...so I thought....

There has GOT to be a way...a man oughta be able to, ahem , "surf the net" when he feels like it... filters or not!

I know one of you SUPER computer geniuses out there has a solution....we "regular folks" need folks like you to understand these machines

thanks fellas

Man, I'm behind a corporate firewall at office. This one has AI with browsing profile monitoring and blocking; K9 is nothing compared to that.

Use UltraSurf or HTTPTunnel or JonDo or Tor and you won't have any restrictions at all.

Re: BYPASS K9 Web Protection Filter / Blocker

or else Download 'Safari' browser for free from the net.It doesn't support k9 and so is not blocked by it.

[I got it from Vikianswers and never tried it]
Or

Now open the task manager and end the process for k9.
Go to C:\Program files or where ever you have installed k9.
Either Rename the folder or change it's location.remember you can only do this after ending the process for k9.
Now install k9 using the downloaded installer. u will need the license.
After installing u can enter your own username and password and hence change the blocked categories accordingly.
To restore original settings you can rechange the position of the original k9 folder.

Re: BYPASS K9 Web Protection Filter / Blocker

I was googling whether it was possible to bypass the k9 filter and ended up on this thread. I know it's well after the fact, but I am a wife like the OP's who had to put k9 on the computer bc of the husband's ****ography habit. I registered for this forum specifically to respond to this post with the following information:

1) Yes, you can use a proxy or other program to get to the ****. However, k9 still keeps a log of every site you have visited through any web browser on the computer. Instead of the site appearing as www.****osite.com or whatever it is, it will appear as www.proxy.com/blah blah blah-****nosite. Your wife will still see what you are doing.

2) If you are a grown man and you like to watch ****, that is your prerogative. If your wife knows about it and doesn't care, that's her prerogative.

However, if you are lying or deceiving your wife to watch **** because she has a problem with it, you need help in your marriage. Trust me. You will eventually be caught not only watching **** but also lying and deceiving and it will not fare well. Grow up, grow a set and tell her how you feel and give her the opportunity to decide whether she wants to be with you or not. My husband and I went into counselling, dealt with his issue together. K9 is still on our computer because he insists that it is there.

Oh, and all you single men out there, any potential future wife has a right to know whether you watch **** or not. Decide in advance where you stand on it and be up front. Give her the option of either accepting it about you, or finding someone else. You would want your future wife to be open with you if she had any habits she was hiding from you, whatever they may be.

Cheers.
