Exclamation Limited or No Connectivity

Hi Friends,
Am using airtel broadband Internet. For last few days am getting a message in connection. Its Limited or No connectivity.
I have done all the following steps.. but still am not getting connected.

got IP address from airtel customer care.
reinstalled my LAN card.

but the same connection is working properly in a laptop.

Will there be a problem with my LAN card? should i change my LAN card?

Please help me friends...

Re: Limited or No Connectivity

I don't think you need a replacement for the lan cable since you could connect atleast to limited.
Try to change the IP Address, like make the IP address to obtain automatically.
If you still get the problem, check for the Network adapter if it need to be re-install.

Re: Limited or No Connectivity

I dont think, it would be the pins.
Does the Internet LED glow? Have you confirmed from Airtel, if they are OK with the connection.
If everything is good, then try to change the LAN Cable. I think Airtel would provide a USB cable with the modem too, you can try with that too.

Re: Limited or No Connectivity

Hi Ruben,

Please provide more information.

1. Are you getting static IP address from Airtel ?

2. Have you assigned static ip address for your adapter ?

3. Please check the DNS settings on your Local Area Connection

4. Are you able to access Internet from your desktop if the connection shared from Laptop ?

Re: Limited or No Connectivity

Try this step:
1. click on start and then click on run
2. type in cmd and click ok
3. type in "netsh winsock reset" (without the quotation marks)
4. type in "exit" and restart your computer

If this does not work, there might be a problem with your LAN card, but we could still try to change some settings via device manager.

Re: Limited or No Connectivity

Hi,

please post IP info.

go to start>run>cmd

when command prompt opens write ipconfig /all

You`ll get IP information along with your default gateway.
Next thing is to try ping your dg.
Once again, open cmd, write "ping "IP address of gateway""

if you dont havae default gateway info its possible that it is on different subnet as you computer is.
In that case, check "obtain IP address automatically" in IP configuration window

Re: Limited or No Connectivity

ping 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1, which are two most common default IP addresses.
