Exclamation Need help regarding Google search

Hi everyone. I'm new here. I needed a little help regarding Google Images.

From a while, some fake photos related to someone I know are being spread by some sadistic people and causing a lot of trouble. We are working to get these photos removed from the source, which is thankfully an obscure website. But recently, for some reason, the photos are turning up on the Google Images search for my friend even though his/her name is not written on that website.

I would like to know why this is happening? As far as I saw, search results in Google Images turn up only when the key terms are clearly present on the page. Moreover the website has been active for at least a year and a half, and the pics are turning up in search only now. Is it possible that someone got them linked to Google search somehow?

Until we manage to get the photos deleted, we want them not to appear in Google search for sake of my friend's reputation. If anybody can help in any way, I'd be truly grateful. Thanks in advance!

EU's 'Right to be forgotten' law is quite helpful.

As habibjp suggested, try Google's standard removal procedures first.
