Hi 2 all here. Quite cool forum. - First, I wanted to write this in the self-introduction of another member, but as this shall be a collective thread for all the problems I can solve and help with, I decided to install a new thread.

I have been a local supporter for now 12 years. I look at some threads in the tech section and think only, for me, there's NEARLY no problem anymore in the daily support for my newer and older machines. I got some client experience in the past and know a lot of machines.

Of course, I can still learn such a lot, even fully (oh, really? I think not...) without going into any programming, in the field of mere support.

For example, how to google it fast, or to have a good forum where you can ask others WHY an old PC from da street is not CD-booting and where I find that jumper (that old P1-board has also some 10 up or down-pins like on old printers) or the BIOS-update for SUCH a medieval machine from da early 90ies...

Now, I even got over the AHCI-problem on my new quad by just taking a win distribution with integrated drivers - integrating ahci AFTER installation is sometimes REAL hard. But would be intresting to find out how to do that in evry scenario.

What really most others don't know and I do: Services. Evry one of them. Of course, Permissions and so on. But I focus on running always on totally stripped-down, optimized wins, what concerns the file system, precisely the reg setting for the win file cache (also doable by customizer xp), and also the net settings, nowadays mostly on 1500, all options on xept black hole detection.

Optimzing tools, of course: Pagedefrag, Antivir, ntregopt, jkdefraggui, tweakui, xdn tweaker, file security manager, ccleaner,

- then also rescuing data ideally with the VERY good program TESTDISK, really even better than the already good GETDATABACK - Ontrack easy recovery is really a bad program, only good for single files.

also, soon, all my data will reside on totally truecrypt-crypted, invisible drives, even win itself. before I do the sys crypting, I'll do Acronis backups.

Oh, by the way: I got right now a totally undeletable virus in sandboxie: I already deinstalled the proggie, it didn't ask if I wanted to delete the sandbox contents, I deleted them before already. When I install SB again, firefox is in the same, F***ed-up state, and max. some 20 minutes after I opened sandboxie, I get a bluescreen. This ONLY happens after starting sandboxie.

How to totally desinfect sandboxie? EVRY time I open up a sandboxied firefox, an error pops up saying some file would be too big to fit in somewhere. I deleted the contents of all sandboxes, still this error pops up.

I'm gonna look how to manually look at the sandbox. maybe only possible from within sandboxie, which is totally infected in my case, sadly. even starting the proggie shurely leads to a soon bluescreen-crash.

But that's just an example of problems i still got. All my pcs are so extremely secure and stable and fast, never, something doesn't work in the lan, i got no dhcp, haha, only fix ips. no pc EVER crashes, but runs for months, xept in my new sandboxie-infection case .-) - and one of my 6 or 7 or 8 pcs from the street doesn't boot from cd.

otherwise, I am now more concentrating on realising some goth and rock culture in my bunker with my new marshall amp, a huge one. as long as i haven't got a bass amp, I use ampeg in cakewalk, of course in asio mode, and in the bandroom, I will use my acer dualcore laptop, which had vista from acer on it, but i did it away and did xp on it - only problems remaining are a question mark for an infrared device.

I overtact with setfsb, mostly, of course. Easy thing to find out one's chipset, and easy also, to use rivatuner. also easy to test a lan with ping -b 65655 or whatever it was, the real MTU... .-)

All I want to say is: Anone got a problem? I WANT to make myself a reputation that I can solve quite a REAL lot of not only (obvious and urgent and furstrating) "problems", but also so-to-speak "incubation" malconditions, latent and under-the seeable surface lying actual mistreatments of the sadly more and more pc-uneducated user:

like, for example, always just keeping one c and that's all on the pc, and then never deleting temp files, or never telling antivir to search all files, not just the index list, or always keeping one's pagefile on the system partition. which MUST sometime lead to the inevitable damage or even total loss to the data.

I thank my own personal g"d for technix. I hate them regarding big companies that treat nature like SH*T. In olden times, we all had thick DOS or basic or whatever books and masses of printouts. All is exchanged now by google, a web engine that didn't very fairly start to dominate the net long ago, some 10 years or more. 15 maybe.

How Billyboy ships out his windoofus is a catastrophy. Bloated with services, options and functions that no one ever needs. Thx to the scene for giving the buyer of win what he deserves: to really WIN. Namely with speed, security and stability. All this on a slim concept.

So, if I can help anywhere, I got NO lust in "normal" life ANYMORE, I just sat at home some days ago and some female friends tried to tell me, why I couldn't just easily hang around. But that's NOT my aim. I am intrested in things that I understand and can use for my advantage, like pcs and music.

But please, only come to me with very normal OR very special questions, and NOT with cases like when you got a virus. then you just download avira antivir.

Good weekend evryone round da globe. I will maybe take my little roland super loud amp speaker again on my bike and have my 30gb ipod with rockbox (yes, right, NO itunes, no coding of mp3s) with van halen and the cult and merauder and my own new death metal song on it connected while driving, its an old military bike from 1937, thats right, no writing mistake here. My family would be 10 times bigger if the holocaust wouldn't have happened. and this bike is from 1937... my gosh. it has NO gears, but still drives like hell well. like the many p2s i found on da street.... ROCK N ROLL BABY TILL MONDAY. MAKE PARTY YOU PEEPLE....

Strider, I remember the name of the amiga game. had good graphix, strider, try out " Amiga Forever" by Cloanto, they got WinuAE and WinFellow PREconfigured for Amiga Emulation. Then, you could play your own name .-) [ Welcome POOOR Turrican HAHAHAHA .-))]

PS: Serious remark: Just saw on the web that China put two guys in prison for YEARS and gave themn a high fee JUST for offering better optimized windoofuses - they DIDNT make a CENTwith that, only with ads. Also, the Chinese government puts HARMLESS Falun Gong (they do Tai Chi or somethin) into concentration camps by the 3 millions. DEATH to the chinese government which IS nazi.
