Cannot restart after sleep
If I leave my machine and it goes to sleep I cannot revive it. I ge the
impression that the computer comes alive but that the monitor will not display. The indicator lamp on the front will not change to the proper color. If I reboot, everything is running normally, despite an abnormal shutdown. Can someone please suggest a solution. |

Is the keyboard still working. If it is try alt-ctrl-F1 to get out to the console then try alt-ctrl-F7 to get back to gui. If that doesn't work, ie it is still blank in gui, ctrl-alt-backspace will restart the xserver. Log back in and turn off the sleep mode. You haven't said what gui or distro that you use so I can't tell you how to do that. |

That happened to my father. We had to bury him. |
