It's suprising that it works so well, Linux support on Vmware is quite
restricted in it's own way (that's with Windows as the host); it's well
supported down to point release level (but some points aren't).

Yes, thanks it's already been mentioned. This is for virtual server and is a
fairly recent development. The disadavantage of virtual server is it
required W3K or above to run on. The OP was querying whether he should run
linux as a guest on XP or XP with linux as a guest, so having to buy a new
opersting system to run them both might be a bridge too far :-)
