2008.0 BitTorrent

Club members might want to know that the torrents are quite
underloaded right now. When I downloaded both the i586 and
x86_64 PowerPack editions of Mandriva 2008.0 over the weekend,
there were 60 peers and 58 of them were seeds. The download
went as fast as my DSL line could carry the bits and both
ISOs check out fine.

G'luck folks....

Underloaded? The beauty of bittorrent is precisely that the more people on,
the more bandwidth for people to download. Ie, good bandwidth comes when
the system is "overloaded".

He means (as pointed out) there are a LOT of seeds and few peers. This
also results in fast downloads.

My point was that of all the people connected, only one or two of them
were in download mode, with nearly 60 people being in upload mode only.
It was the download portion I considered to be "underloaded".

Cheers....
