Just to bring closure to this thread, I threw in the towel and bought
another motherboard, not just for sound but other issues as well. My new
Intel D945GCNL gives me sound out of the box.

Just to bring closure to this thread, I threw in the towel and bought
another motherboard, not just for sound but other issues as well. My new
Intel D945GCNL gives me sound out of the box.
