Using MQSeries, some messages suspended some not

We are using BizTalk 2004 and the MQSeries adapter to read and write to
queues. Basic functionality...

1) Internal format arrives to BizTalk via MQ (Request)
2) BizTalk reads from queue converts to external format and send to queue

3) External system sends message to queue (Response)
4) BizTalk read from queue converts to internal format and sends to a queue

A high percent of the time, a message gets suspended when attempting to
write to a queue. All messages seem to be read find but when writting to a
queue most get suspended. We see mesages being suspended when writing the
requests to a queue to send to external partner. We see responses getting
back and suspended the converted message when wriing the response to a queue
for internal application.

Status : Suspended (resumable)
Message error code: 0x80004005 (Microsofts generic catchall error code)
Message error description: A failure was encountered while transmitting the
message

a) when we look at the generated message it looks fine and passes a schema
check.
b) Event Viewer logs show no errors (Application, System, and Security)
c) MQ error logs show no errors
d) Suspended Messages: Message Details looks good
Suspended Messages: Message Details : Message Context look good, all
values are correct.

Everything has been working fine until recently. It may have started last
friday or this monday. The only known change to the server is a security
patch added and box rebooted on Saturday. But this security patch has been
loaded at our customer test site and we do not see this problem happening.

The only thing I can think of is the failure is somewhere between the send
port and the queue manager. The Message Details identifies the correct Send
Port and Adress (the correct queue and queue manager) but the message is
failing before it gets to the queue manager (assumed because no MQ error
messages)

Hope someone has some idea, I would appreciate your thoughts.
