Re: Windows xp clip organizer freezes up application when a search
Mary,
Thank you for your last suggestion of un-installing SP 2 and reinstalling. However, after reviewing my system, I find myself reluctant to take this step since the MDAC indicated that I have the latest version (2.8) on my system. Would you advise going to Microsoft support in the hope they can fix my problem even thou it may cost me some money? I have no idea why you are having these problems. The first troubleshooting step is to download and install the latest drivers for your video, audio and NIC devices (get them from the OEM web sites, not from Windows Update). Also check for a bios flash. You can also run a ram diagnostic. Gateway will detect your system and let you know if there are updates available. In IE, tools, Internet Options, settings tab, view objects, click view, details, delete everything that is unknown or corrupted. Re: Windows xp clip organizer freezes up application when a search is.
Is your ISP Comcast? I experienced exactly the same problem after my ISP is switched to Comcast. The problem disappears when I plug the computer in another ISP's network.
