Windows xp clip organizer freezes up application when a search is.
Clip organizer freezes up when "search" is selected. This occurs in stand
alone mode and also when clip organizer is activated from publisher, word and excel. In the case of the application it freezes the application. Windows task manager must be envoked to release the application. Clip Organizer worked fine until a couple of weeks ago. I have downloaded and installed all suggested security patches and Windows and Office up grades regularily. My computer is a Gateway with OEM Windows & Office XP. I'm running Windows XP Home, service pack two and Office xp. Fooling around with the application did generate an error message, on a one time basis, having to do with ActiveX. (Something to do with can't search outside a module when searching in it.) Does any one have any suggestions of how to solve this problem. Thanks |

Did everything you suggested. The problem persists. When search mode is
entered, the application just continues to search. A utility I monitored the function with idicated over 6 gig of memory being utilized with no results. Computer has to be restarted to release the application. I have tried repair, reinstall etc to no avail. Is there some sort of hot fix available that might address this problem? Have you tried "detect and repair?"
Maybe one the MDAC components are mismatched MDAC Utility: Component Checker http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...DisplayLang=en How about the Jet 4.0? http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/r...DisplayLang=en -- Mary Sauer MSFT MVP http://office.microsoft.com/ http://msauer.mvps.org/ news://msnews.microsoft.com "Hal Norman" <HalNorman@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:44464B98-5D96-4EF5-A3B6-337FDFFB14A1@microsoft.com... >I checked the video settings & tryed several including full off.
