Clip art locks up Powerpoint
For the past day or so I have been reading various questions dealing with
clipart and Office. There was a dept that has 8 computers in it, all XP sp2, all Office sp2. (Except for the one I upgraded to sp3.) On all these computers when the users are in Powerpoint and klik insert>clipart they can search for say frog and it comes up with a bunch of frogs. They MAY be able to add one or two of the clip art to the project, but then it freezes up and they have to use task manager to close the program. I have several other pcs in the building and they do the same thing. We have MS firewall turned off. I have added the clipart site to trusted, deleted temp internet files and moved the temp folder, compacted the MS clip organizer and some other things I read about. Turning off the web collection from clipart sources will allow it to run but allows a very small collection to choose from. Saving the clipart, (from the internet collection that Powerpoint loads), into another folder will also cause a freeze of Powerpoint. Once, when I left the pc in the failed state and came back after lunch I recieved the 0x800c0008 error code. What does any one think? |

There is a forum here that discusses your error with solutions:

Thanks Mary. The only things I hadn't tried was to make sure one language was
selected. It is. And see if I could get to stanford. The link for stanford is ont current. I did telnet in per suggestion. And I can get MS updates fine. Still freezes up when internet clip art is selected. Re: Clip art locks up Powerpoint
There are a couple of things you can try. Maybe the Organizer is broken. You can
change its name to Mstore10.mgc to Mstore10.old. It is in a folder similar to this: (hidden) C:\Documents and Settings\<<user>>\Application Data\Microsoft\Clip Organizer You can move the folder in Internet Explorer. Internet Explorer, tools, Internet Options, Settings, move Folder. You can open the Organizer from start, Microsoft Office Tools, Microsoft Clip Organizer, when the Organizer opens, tools, compact. You can also try a detect and repair here as well. I am not too knowledgeable about your error. -- Mary Sauer MSFT MVP http://office.microsoft.com/ http://msauer.mvps.org/ news://msnews.microsoft.com "Doug" <Doug@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news 58D1B81-EDDD-4192-A77C-0144178922D1@microsoft.com...> Thanks Mary.
