Any way to speed up the library?
DIS2006 Suite Library
Ok I admit I have a lot more files than the average DIP user is likely to have, (about 150GB on a 400GB hard drive) but it takes at least 5 minutes just to launch the library and then another 3-5 minutes before i can actually do anything. Labeling takes about a minute a file just to process the label and i only have about 20GB labeled anyway because its so agonisingly slow - so before i give up on the library and switch to ACDsee 8- is there any way to speed up the library processing? or improve performance? Ta for any suggestions |

Once this has completed it should speed things up somewhat. The .pd3 files contains your thumbs and metadata. Also, try closing all programs before opening the Library...and doing some maintenance might help if you have not done it recently. Running Disk Cleanup, Error Checking and Defrag on a regular schedule is a good idea. RE: Any way to speed up the library?
Thanks John
I do all maintence regulary - no offense but i just dont think the Library is capable of handling huge amounts of files well. Ill add it to the wish list for the next version ![]() Thanks for the feedback though ![]() "shelleyrae" wrote: > DIS2006 Suite Library > Ok I admit I have a lot more files than the average DIP user is likely to > have, (about 150GB on a 400GB hard drive) but it takes at least 5 minutes > just to launch the library and then another 3-5 minutes before i can actually > do anything. RE: Any way to speed up the library?
Just a comment. The library is amazingly slow in generating the thumbnail for
new images and for reflecting changes to the hierarchy.
