Synchronization Error CRM Client to Outlook
We went live with CRM about 4 months ago and when we did the original
install, some users were unable to connect to the CRM fro Synchronizing. When I did some research, I found something referencing the SQLAccessGroup and to remove the user from the group and then re-add them to it. I cannot find the reference that I originally found and now have the issue coming up again. Can anyone tell me where the SQLAccessGroup with the list of users can be found? I've located it under the Security Logins on my SQL Management Console as doamin\SQLAccessGroup {974c526a-cddc-492f-97b5-7a2e3209c64e} (SQL2005), but it doesn't show me users and I cannot seem to find it on my Active Directory or under Local users and groups on the server. Thanks in advance. Sandy |

RE: Synchronization Error CRM Client to Outlook
Hi,
You should have a CRM OU under you Active Directory Users and computers that has the SQLAccessGroup (along with other CRM groups PrivReporting/PrivUser/Reporting/User). You should be logged in as a domain admin to see those groups, and view the members. Last time I encountered this error, it was enough for us to readd the groups to SQL Server and we were humming along fine.. the same as accomplishing a backup/restore. -Eric Golpe "S Graves" wrote: > We went live with CRM about 4 months ago and when we did the original > install, some users were unable to connect to the CRM fro Synchronizing. > When I did some research, I found something referencing the SQLAccessGroup > and to remove the user from the group and then re-add them to it. > > I cannot find the reference that I originally found and now have the issue > coming up again. RE: Synchronization Error CRM Client to Outlook
Thanks I did track it down, however I discovered the issue goes deeper than I
thought. We have it set up on a Citrix Presentation Server and for some reason all of the users on server are getting the error "An unknown error occurred while synchronizing data to Outlook." Platform is Windows 2000 with Outlook 2003 and I have applied Rollup Update 2. Any ideas? I've tried re-installing the CRM Client and it didn't work. RE: Synchronization Error CRM Client to Outlook
Hi Sandy,
I am also getting this error did you manage to find a solution? I have been searching for a while now but the error message is so vague I have not managed to fix it for 3 months now! I am the only one who gets this error and we are all using the same systems Vista with outlook 2007. Thanks, Katherine "S Graves" wrote: > Thanks I did track it down, however I discovered the issue goes deeper than I > thought. RE: Synchronization Error CRM Client to Outlook
I haven't found an answer yet. I was assuming it had something to do with
being in a Terminal Services environment. The only thing I haven't tried is removing both the client and Outlook from all the user configs and reinstalling them. RE: Synchronization Error CRM Client to Outlook
Same problem here...
Have a rollout with brand new laptops (same image: WinXP SP2, Office 2007, IE6). Users have the same rights. 1 user has synchronization problems. Reinstalling Office 2007 and the Offline CRM Outlook Client won't help. Installed the Client against the test environment, same problem there. Installed Rollup 2 (were still running on Rollop 1) on the test environment and on the Client, didn't help. Installed the Offline CRM Outlook Client on the same laptop for another user and he works fine. Found in the registry some differences between the 2 users but can't correct them. Hope someone finds a way to fix this. I'm still working on it. "S Graves" wrote: > I haven't found an answer yet. RE: Synchronization Error CRM Client to Outlook
Update....
I've uninstalled the CRM Client. And after that I: - Deleted the remaining registry settings - Removed the sync tables from the Database - Removed some specific rows from the main sync tables. - Removed the MSCRM folder from the Documents and Settings folder. After a reboot I installed the Client again and still receive the same error: "An error occurred promoting this item to Microsoft CRM". And the synchronization still doesn't work. When I go to the All fields section on the Contact in Outlook and set crmLinkState to 1. Then the synchronization works for this Contact. The attributes crmEntryID, crmid, crmOwnerId, crmxml and crmLinkState will be updated after this. After adjusting in CRM or Outlook data will be synchronized. But the Tracking of a new Contact still won't work. :-( Has anyone any idea?! "LCOW" wrote: > Same problem here... > Have a rollout with brand new laptops (same image: WinXP SP2, Office 2007, > IE6). Hi,
The probable solution to this problem is the permissions in IIS. If you go to IIS and under the CRM website look for a folder called "_imgs", right click and select properties, go to the directory security tab then click edit on Authentication and access control. Ensure that enable anonymous access is ticked and OK out of the dialog boxes. That should resolve the issue. You may have to wait until the CRM host process tries to reconnect/resync before you see the results. Regards, Matt |
