SQL Server-Error when going offline
Hi
We have quite a few problems with the MS CRM 4.0 Offline Client. When our customer tries to go offline he gets always an SQL Server Error. When we execute the diag tool it shows us that something is wrong with the sync. After executing the repair it works fine and we can go offline without any troubles. The strange thing is, that it does not work on the next day. Then we get the same error again. The only solution is to execute the repair.... We are working for quite a long time together with ms support, but unfortunately they couldn't help us so far. We also have installed several hotfixes which we received from ms. Does someone have an idea where we should have a look? It would be really helpfull for us to get some ideas. Thank's Michel |

Re: SQL Server-Error when going offline
We did have a similar error and it ended up being an issue with our Local Data Groups. Situation 1: Too many Note records - This error would show up when synchronizing the notes records. We received the SQL error when there were too many Note records trying to download to the local database. We changed our LDG to limit the time frame of notes by the modification date.
Situation 2: Orphaned Notes records - This error occured while checking for changes. Some of the Sales reps changed business units and they owned notes for accounts/contacts were no longer being downloaded to their local database. The ldg was trying to download the note they owned to an account/contact that did not exist on their local database causing the SQL error. It was strange that if you ran the diagnostic tool and fixed the corrupted record it would work for a day or two then break again. Situation 3: ?? - This error occurs while checking for changes. We now have a different SQL go offline error that we have not found a fix for, where the authentication is being lost and we are working with Microsoft on this issue. Microsoft has ruled out the LDG. |
