Thanks, Fred. I'll start working on this right away.

Re: Round shapes distorting
Oh No!, Snow! It's Spring! :-)
Annie, try with just a circle. Make it a stroke, draw a straight line with the stroke, then convert it to path. Original circle shows 12 points in Layer palette as expected (4 nodes + 8 handles) Circle in converted result shows only 6 points--2 nodes + 4 handles. Odd! hmmm...-defining nodes are less and therefore less definition = distortion?? FWIW- I tried just circle in E3-same steps as above. I know it might be apples and oranges because of old 'ellipse, arc, chord' functions, but the converted result shows a circle with many, many nodes evenly spaced. I can get the nodes reduced to 6 (2 nodes +4 handles) with the Smooth Path option using a value of 9. Result = it distorts much like D2 results. Re: Round shapes distorting
Very odd indeed. My 12 point circle converts to 30 points in Vista.
I'll get back to you. I haven't turned on my XP machine yet. -- Annie design(at)studioe3(dot)com This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. Re: Round shapes distorting
Ok, Fred, on XP I can reproduce your results, sort of. When I create the
stroke I get the 2 point circle(s) rather than the 30 point on Vista but still not the 6 point circle that you get. When you create the repeating stroke and apply it to a path, do you get two objects for the stroke in the Layers palette? I get two objects in Vista but only 1 in XP. I don't get distortion, though. I'll send this off to a dev as soon as I unfreeze my computer. :-( BTW, the snow is sticking! Re: Round shapes distorting
Just to be sure, the 6 point circle is composed of 2 nodes and the 2 handles
for each node (4). :-) P.S. Hope it's not enough to break out the shovels! Re: Round shapes distorting
No shovels - it's starting to melt now. But it did discourage me from
working in the garden today as I had originally planned! In XP it shows on 2 points so for me it isn't even showing the handles. -- Annie design(at)studioe3(dot)com This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. Annie,
I should have said that the Handles don't show until I use Direct Selection (A) tool. They don't show in the Layers panel until you use the Direct Selection tool?
