Popup in Internet Explorer
All of a sudden, I am getting continuous advertising popups and have not been
able to stop them. I have Verizon's security program which should be blocking these popups but it isn't. I need help. I can't anything, even read an email, before a popup appears |

Re: Popup in Internet Explorer
Verizon's security program may not be up to the task. Are you getting popups
all over the place, even on web sites that normally don't have them? It could be you're already infected with adware. Start by turning off any extra toolbars you may have installed in IE by going to the View | Toolbars and unchecking all but the standard IE ones (that includes turning off things like the Google and Yahoo toolbars as well since they're not standard). What you'll need to do is find an application that can scan and remove adware. You may want to download several adware removers as each one may find a different set of adware programs running on your machine. I've used both AdAware () and SpyBot Search and Destroy (. Both of these were recommended to me and are still pretty much the kings out there. If you have Microsoft's Windows Defender installed, you may also want to ensure it's been updated to the latest definitions and use that to scan your system as well.
