New Problem

I imported a folder today, as per normal procedure, no problems. But, when I
try to open a tiff in NX, NX opens but not the image. The images open with
their default program, but not when I click one of the helper applications.
The other folders work fine. But, this new folder does not work that way. I
can right click on the image and click show media folder then click open with
and go to the application I want, but I cannot get to the application via EM1
nor EM2. The nef's open in NX, as I want, the tiff' and jpeg's open in CS3
as I want, those are the default applications. But, if I want to open like
say a tiff in NX and try to do that within EM it will not open the image, but
it will open the program. I did not import this folder any differently than
normal. What happened??
Thanks
Nancy

RE: New Problem

Hi Nancy,

I couldn't reproduce the issue either with EM1 or EM2 on Windows XP Pro
system. EM was able to open NEF and TIF (in fact any common image format)
in Capture NX. From your description it appears the issue occurs only when
the images are imported from a specific folder. Where is this folder
located? Local or Network? Will the TIF image open correctly if you move
few tiff images from this folder to a different folder, import them into EM
catalog from the new folder and then try to open with? Please try the
following options and see if it will make any difference:

1) Test the issue on a different user account.
2) Test the issue in a different/new catalog
3) Remove and Add CaptureNX as helper application in EM
4) Where the images are located? Move the images to different folder or
Import from another folder.

Best Regards,
Sekar Raju, MCSE

RE: New Problem

Thanks. I created a new folder and moved the images over to that one and
imported the new folder into EM. Everything works a treat!
