will mac EM read windows catalogs?

I'm seriously thinking of moving to mac. I know there is a mac version of EM
but will it read the catalogs created in windows versions?

will it likely run faster on a mac?

thanks,

tom

RE: will mac EM read windows catalogs?

Hi Tom,

Expression Media catalogs are compatible on both Windows and Macintosh
platforms. Generally, EM is bit faster on Macintosh, however it depends on
several variables such as hardware, location of images/catalogs etc. Also,
if the files are on network and accessible by Macintosh then the catalogs
should be fine. Otherwise, the file paths will be broken and you may have
to reset the paths or rebuild the catalogs on Macintosh.

Best Regards,

RE: will mac EM read windows catalogs?

Thanks. I'm considering replacing one of my laptops with a macbook pro and
want to run some of the apps in a pure mac environment to really compare OSX
to vista... not being able to sync the db would have been a deal killer.

cheers,

tom
