Hi,

One of my clients has a problem reinstalling EM 2.0 after a virus attach and
subsequent losing of some files and directories.

The EM 2.0 setup fails with a rollback and in the log file these lines are
found:

1: InstallLicenses: ERROR: Failed to initialize SLDL. HRESULT: C004D301
1: InstallLicenses: ERROR: Failed to close SLDL. HRESULT: 80070057

Probably a license error I though. I have tried to uninstall and reinstall
his EM 2.0 and use MS license reset app and MS setup cleaner but with non
luck.

For this reason his laptop is out of use for EM and he is in trouble with
downloaded images to catalog. He obviously doesn't want to reformat and
reinstall Windows.

Is there any way to restore-reinstall the licenses from setup?

Hello,

Expression Media installation may roll-back or you would get license
related error message if the folders that stores license related
information are deleted or renamed. This is a security feature to prevent
license tampering and piracy. You may have to create a support case with
Microsoft to troubleshoot and fix this issue.
