Intro Flash Page and Frontpage
Hi all-
I'd like to have a "small intro" to my website which would either be a small video or a series of pictures demonstrating my products. You were so helpful to me when I first created my FP2000 website - so before bugging you good people I did an extensive search hoping to find answers on my own but really -- my head is swimming -- too much info!!! - so I hope you don't mind helping me again!!! Here is what I"m looking for- Are there specific reqts for FP inasfar as what type or version to use for Flash (or other media s/w??) or FP versions?? Would the ISP have to do anything specific to set my site to accept this enhancement? (storage space, memory issues?) - I'd love to find something simple, cheap if not free, that I can do/maintain myself. Any suggestions on where to begin?? Any help is appreciated. TIA MG |

No - Flash is all done on the client system. You'll put an <object> tag in your page that identifies the Flash movie and some other information. WHen the user visits your page this code causes the Flash player to start and download the Flash movie from your web site. If the user does not have the Flash player installed they are prompted to install it from the Macromedia web site. > > Would the ISP have to do anything specific to set my site to accept this > enhancement? Flash is sort of fun, although rather complicated - and unfortunately the program is expensive. -- Peter Aitken Remove the crap from my email address before using. |

Re: Intro Flash Page and Frontpage
Thanks Peter - I found something that is perfect for me through
shareware.com - I was able to take a series of pictures and link them up - it was the easiest thing really and now I have my demo. Okay it's not flashy and very simplistic but it'll do!!! Re: Intro Flash Page and Frontpage
Amy,
have you seen the flash script here: http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamici...htmlsplash.htm I have used the text spash option with good success. It says you can splash pictures as well. It is free. Maybe it will suit your needs better than what you found... I dunno...
