Import to local computer and Image problems

Hello,

I am helping someone who recently imported a website using FTP to their local machine. But now all the images are showing up as red x's. Does it import everything or do sometimes thing get left behind ie. images? Or would it somehow alter the folder structure during import that now the images are pointing to a different location and thus showing up as red x's?
