RE: hyperlink folder and not just file?
It's not clear what you mean by "hyperlink the contents ..."
If you mean be able to go to a folder and choose a file, yes it is. If you mean something else then maybe post back.. -- Amazing PPT Hints, Tips and Tutorials- http://www.PPTAlchemy.co.uk http://www.technologytrish.co.uk email john AT technologytrish.co.uk "Lizzi" wrote: > is it possible to hyperlink the contents of an entire folder (using actions > buttons) instead of just a file from that folder? > -- > Lizzi |

If you use an action setting of Run Program and set it to e.g. explorer c:\temp\ when you activate the link, it'll open an explorer window on the folder you specified. You may need to put the path to the folder in quotes if it has spaces in it, and you'll probably get that imbecilic "You're about to destroy your computer, are you sure" warning from MS' lawyers. RE: hyperlink folder and not just file?
I want to be able to add a button to my powerpoint presentation....with the
contents of an entire folder hyperlinked with it. I have done it with just a single file, but i would like to know if this is possible with an entire folder -- Lizzi "John Wilson" wrote: > It's not clear what you mean by "hyperlink the contents ..." > If you mean be able to go to a folder and choose a file, yes it is. RE: hyperlink folder and not just file?
Are you saying that you want the link to open EVERY file in the folder.
That is, if the folder contains 2 Word documents, a Web page, another PowerPoint, and 3 pictures, you want the hyperlink to launch Word with 2 files open, launch the browser to show the Web page, jump to the other PowerPoint, and open Picture Viewer with 3 windows for 3 separate picture? This seems a bit odd to me. I think that the only way to do this is to use VBA. --David -- David M. Re: hyperlink folder and not just file?
I think what she means is this: Say she has a folder on her computer with a few pictures of hockey players, a Word document with an article on Wayne Gretzky, and a PDF of a form to fill out to enter a contest for 2 to the Stanley Cup Finals. She wants to be able to click on a hyperlink in powerpoint so that it takes her to the FOLDER containing all of these files. She clicks it and sees this pop up: [image: http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f1...7/hockeyy.jpg] Are you able to do that in powerpoint?? -- Danicus ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Danicus's Profile: http://www.citrixguide.com2178 View this thread: http://www.citrixguide.com/showthread.php?t=8141 |

Re: hyperlink folder and not just file?
I can't locate the original question (was this a long time ago?), but
what you describe works perfectly. Are you having a problem doing this. I just set the hyperlink to the folder, and it does what you describe. --David -- David M.
