How Do I Draw a Horizontal Straight Line in Powerpoint 2007
I can`t seem to draw a horizontal straight line. When I use the standard
Ìnsert, Shape, Line command I get a line that isn`t perfectly straight. I use the shift key to draw it but I notice jagged edges in it. I compared it to another Shape such as a rectangle and it becomes more obvious that it is not straight. When one end of the line is just touching the top of the rectangle, the other end is not. You can see some space showing. This is confirmed when I zoom to 400%. Another way to show this, is to draw a rectangle and draw a center line from the left attach point to the right attach point inside the rectangle. Then slide it up or down using the arrow keys, to compare it wit the top or boittom lines of the rectangle. I tried it with Snap Objects to Grid On and Off but get the problem either way. I`m not sure if this is a problem or not? -- Jim |

RE: How Do I Draw a Horizontal Straight Line in Powerpoint 2007
Hi Jim
I cannot recreate the issue here - holding the shift key while a draw a line makes it beautifully horizontal. Make sure you have a local colour printer driver installed & set as default (you never know, this seems to resolve a lot of issues). How to install a local printer driver How to select a default printer Also check whether the line thinks it is straight or not - right click it -> format shape -> 3-D rotation -> Z index. should be 0. Let us know how you get on. Lucy -- MOS Master Instructor "Jim" wrote: > I can`t seem to draw a horizontal straight line. Re: How Do I Draw a Horizontal Straight Line in Powerpoint 2007
i can't do this either in 2007. It keeps wanting to snap to something even though snap to grids is off. My coworkers can't draw a straight line either.
I am trying to draw a straight line to connect to two object, but I don't want the line connected to the objects because they are different shapes and it doesn't look right with the line trying to connect to a point. |
