[PPT2003 on XP] links to pictures
Hi All,
I've created a PPT with links to JPG's. When running the slide show and hitting the link, the picture opens up in IE7 instead of the regular Picture and Fax viewer. When openning the original JPG from its location, it opens up in the Picture and Fax viewer. How come? and how can I teach PPT to open up with same application? I've done the same thing on an exact machine and it opened up the link in the right application.!!! so it might says that the problem is local in this one PC. Any thoughts? Thanks a lot in advance |

Each PC (and each USER on each PC) can have its own settings for what programs "own" different file types. Try this to change the settings: In Windows Explorer, right click a JPG and choose Open With. Click Choose Program. Pick the program you want to use to open JPGs, then put a check next to "Always open ..." Click OK That should do it. ----------------------------------------- Steve Rindsberg, PPT MVP PPT FAQ: PPTools: ================================================ |

Re: [PPT2003 on XP] links to pictures
Hi Steve
I've been playing with this for a while, some of our computers do it and some don't. ALL have jpgs set to always open with Photoshop. It seems to me that it's IE7 (the PC's where it works properly all have IE6). Maybe you could check this out? -- ------------------------------------------- Amazing PPT Hints, Tips and Tutorials email john AT technologytrish.co.uk "Steve Rindsberg" wrote: > In article <>, Lp12 wrote: > > Hi All, > > I've created a PPT with links to JPG's. Thanks a lot but its already configured that ALL JPG's will open up with
picture and fax viewer. That’s why it’s so mysterious... Any thoughts? "Steve Rindsberg" wrote: > In article <>, Lp12 wrote: > > Hi All, > > I've created a PPT with links to JPG's.
