PPt Presenter Mode Scrolling of Notes & Slide Advance

In PPt 2003 Multiple Screen, Presenter View, I have notes that need to scroll
as I present. Ihave found if the cursor is in the notes pane that I can use
the projector remote to scroll my notes both up and down. When I want to
advance slides I can hit the space bar or backspace. In PPt 2007 I can do
the scroll portion but can't get the space bar or backspace to change slides.
Any suggestions.
