Access 2003 SP3 - Compact and Repair
After installing SP3 for Office 2003, Compact and Repair in Access does not
delete the copy of the database after completion of compaction. Is this working as intended? How can I set it to behave as before? Thanks, Tom |

Do you have 'Compact on close' set?
There was a report in the Access group that this was a bug that affected only some installations "Tom Ker" <thomas.DOT.kerA@Thighmark.com> wrote in message news:OYRV%23BXHIHA.5980@TK2MSFTNGP04.phx.gbl... > After installing SP3 for Office 2003, Compact and Repair in Access does > not delete the copy of the database after completion of compaction. I read through the postings on the Access board and it is describing exactly what my user is reporting. She's gone for the day, but I left a message for her to try the workarounds suggested (local drive, not launching directly from Explorer). We'll see. Any further help will be appreciated. Thanks, Tom |
