remove 1 computer from registration to add new one to key
Hi, I have Office 2003 and I'm guessing it will not allow me to install it
onto an additional computer because maybe I've used up all off my key assignments? It's not allowing me to enter the Key(2003) code after I remove 1997 from this thing. Is there any way I can "unregister" a couple of the computers using my key that are now obsolete? Thanks, and have a great day!! Nicole |

Re: remove 1 computer from registration to add new one to key
Hi Nicole,
There isn't a check on the CD installation key when running setup (i.e. it doesn't have a 'counter'. There is a check on the product activation key, which is machine specific and does monitor the number of times a particular CD installation key has been used as part of activation. If you can install Office 2003 you may need to use the telephone activation method to explain the scenario to the activation folks. There isn't a deactivation procedure built into the Office programs. ========== <<"Nicole Spicoli" <Nicole Spicoli@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:F7A00EF6-575C-424A-AA17-B0FECDAE16E4@microsoft.com... Provided your license is a retail edition, and it allows for multiple
installations, uninstall on old PC and reinstall on new, you may have to use phone activation. If its an OEM version its tied to a single PC that it was origonally installed on. Does this also apply to office 2007? I'm trying to move my product key to my
new computer. "Bob Buckland ?:-)" wrote: > Hi Nicole, > > There isn't a check on the CD installation key when running setup (i.e. it doesn't have a 'counter'.
