RE: GPO to redirect Outlook "AutoArchive" location

Hi, Robert!

http://www.microsoft.com/communities...42a98ba0f2&p=1

I'd like to let you know about my tests.

This is a test GPO. And it work, set in GPO value \\somepath\test,
start outlook, you will see: \\somepath\test in the settings of AutoArchive

1. Native type of “001f0324” value is REG_BINARY (why?), but I set
REG_EXPAND_SZ and it work…
Example: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Offi ce\12.0\Outlook
(ForcePSTPath, Outlook 2007 GPO) type: REG_EXPAND_SZ

But it not work with %...% with AD (like, \\somepath\test\%USERNAME% ) 

Any ideas?

Dmitry Butkevich.

Re: GPO to redirect Outlook "AutoArchive" location

I found your guide to redirect the autoarchive folders and have
redirected the folders to our users homedirectory where we can take a
backup.

We have one issue though. some users have access to other shared
mailboxes. This means that the shared mailbox is also autoarchived to
the users personal homedirectory.
We would like to change that, so the shared mailbox is archived in a
seperate folder.
Any ideas how to do that?

Jesper

Re: GPO to redirect Outlook "AutoArchive" location

Hi Jesper,

We can set one default autoarchive folder for outlook 2003 via GPO. To define specific other archive folder for other folders in the folder list in
Outlook 2003, please right click the folder and then choose Properties > In the Autoarchive tab, choose "archive this folder using this settings",
and then define a specific settings for this folder. According to your desciption, you would like to define another archive folder for the shared
mailbox via GPO. I am afraid we are unable to do so.

You may post it as a speperate one so that others can provide more information to you. Thanks for your understanding.

Sincerely,

Emily Lin,
