AOL Email in Outlook 2007

AOL advises that you can setup your AOL email account within Outlook in POP3
account and provides instructions. I have followed those instructions in
setting up in Outlook 2007 but it will not login.

Suggestions on this setup?

To provide help, folks here will need to know exactly what you did. You
might take a look here, however, to see if the instructions provided help:

Follow the instructions shown for Outlook 2002-3, but you'll need to vary
them a little because things are slightly different in Outlook 2003. For
example, instead of Tools - Email Accounts, choose Tools - Account Settings.
Since your AOL is already set up but not working, click on it in the list of
accounts and then click on Change.

Milly Staples [MVP - Outlook]

AOL has not allowed POP3 mail for quite some time. You will need to access your AOL Mail via IMAP. Instructions are on the AOL help pages.

For those interested. I tried again entering the POP3 settings per the 3rd
party email setup instructions from AOL and it worked in Outlook 2007. My
AOL email account now works in Outlook 2007 as a POP3 account. Look in AOL
email help for instructions.

AOL POP3 connections may be flaky, but they work more often than not.

POP3 server: pop.aol.com
SMTP server: smtp.aol.com

AOL POP3 connections may be flaky, but they work more often than not.

SMTP server: smtp.aol.com
