embed office Key inside the CD
Dear All
How can I incorporate the product key of office 2003 in the CD itself. then I will burn the office file to a new CD and give this CD to our technical support staff to be used for installation. I don't want to insert the product key any more during the installatin. thanks |

RE: embed office Key inside the CD
The easiest way for your purpose is to add it to the setup.ini file.
You will want to look in the setup folder. For example...e:\files\setup In the setup folder you could have a few different .ini files. You want the one that corresponds with the name of your setup. For example if your main setup is setup.exe, then modify the setup.ini. If you are using a VL version that has many setup.exe and you wanted to install Office Pro that has a setuppro.exe, then you would modify the setuppro.ini. Anyway.. after you determine which .ini in the setup folder to modify, add the line PIDKEY="123456789134567891345679" Then when you run setup it will use the key in the setup.ini. http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/or...401951033.aspx As an alterative method you could also create a .mst file with the Custom Installation wizard in the ORK http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/or...401701033.aspx -- Eric Palm MSFT Office Setup "Fahad" wrote: > Dear All > > How can I incorporate the product key of office 2003 in the CD itself. then > I will burn the office file to a new CD and give this CD to our technical > support staff to be used for installation.
