Word 2007 crashes on save, help!

I'm trying to save my document in Word 2007.
Every time I try to save the document, the application crashes and
tries to recover. Yet, when I try to save it again, it still crashes.

How can I save my document properly? Converting to a 97-2003
compatible document works, but it removes all the markup specific to
2007.

The Exception messages is as follows:

Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: APPCRASH
Application Name: WINWORD.EXE
Application Version: 12.0.4518.1014
Application Timestamp: 45428028
Fault Module Name: wwlib.dll
Fault Module Version: 12.0.6015.5000
Fault Module Timestamp: 460d89b2
Exception Code: c0000005
Exception Offset: 00070926
OS Version: 6.0.6000.2.0.0.256.6
Locale ID: 2067

Additional information about the problem:
LCID: 1033
Brand: Office12Crash
skulcid: 1033

Hi Tim, I'm sorry to hear you're having problems.

Does the problem only happen with that one document, or with any
document you open or create in Word 2007? Does the problem persist when
you log in as another user?

Have you tried repairing Office yet? You can do so by going into Start
| Control Panel | Programs and Features | Microsoft Office 2007 |
Change | Repair | Continue.

Also, you can try disabling any third party add-ins you have installed.

To do so open Word 2007, then go into the Office button | Word Options
| Add-Ins.

From here you can disable any third party add-ins that are installed.
To the right of each add-in you should see a type (COM Add-in, for
example). Down at the bottom of the window where it says Manage, change
the item in the drop down menu to the type of item you want to manage
and click GO.

In the window that appears, uncheck whatever add-ins you wish to
disable, click OK and restart Word to see if the issue is resolved.

RE: Word 2007 crashes on save, help!

Sounds like this might apply...

Word 2007 may stop responding when you try to use the Define New Multilevel
List feature
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/926955

If that doesn't apply you may want to update office. There are Word updates
available that update the file Wwlib.dll

Sam, Thank you for your reply.

The problem occurs when I try to save the document as a "Word
document", which is the Word 2007-format. When I save in comptability
mode, the crash doesn't occur.

There aren't any add-ins installed to my knowledge; this is a fairly
fresh, default install. (Vista Business and Office 2007)
In the "COM Add-ins"-dialogue are no add-ins defined.
After a repair, the problem persisted.

I find it quite odd, that a fresh install of office is crashing to
horribly and consistently. The particular DLL would've been patched
recently as some googling taught me because of a buffer-overflow
exploit. If that's the case, windowsupdate might've corrupted the DLL.

Have you tried the suggestions Sam gave the other poster? Running
Diagnostics ("repairing Office") is a good start, and disabling add-ins is
also a good troubleshooting step.

Re: Word 2007 crashes on save, help!

Hell Echo

I run the diagnostic from control panel, but it did not fix the problem. I
noticed that I click on the Icon to open directly a specific document, it's
opened but it does not show anything, it is like it were disable, and when i
close it, it crashed. The other thing is when I first open Word then open the
document, I can see the document but it does not allow me to make any click
on it, it's like the mouse were not working, any modification hass to be done
with the keyboard, you can save it but when you close word, it crashed. If
you did not save before it does not allow you due to the crashed.

Any Idea, I did not reinstall office but I'll do it soon,

regards,
