Changing one word to another.

What task if any can I use to take a specific word and change it to another
word throughout the entire paragraph? I need a word in quotations changed to
a specific name and instead of changing each quote I know there is a way to
highlight the word and change it and they will all change thoughout the
paragraph but I can not remember how to do it can anyone help me out?

Thanks.

RE: Changing one word to another.

If you are using Word 2007 (which i hate by the way) Go to the top ribbon
marked "home" on the far right you will have the "find" and "replace" options
- Go to replace. when the screen opens it will ask for the word you want to
find and then for the replacement . type replace and find exactly as you want
it.i.e.
find "dog" replace with "Doggie" or find Cat and replave with cat.
Hope this makes sense. RG.

Re: Changing one word to another.

Ctrl+H to open the Replace dialog. Type the appropriate words in the "Find
what" and "Replace with" boxes and click Replace All (you can use Replace
All in a selection rather than the entire document).

Re: Changing one word to another.

[Ctrl + H] should help.
Be careful to check whether the key combination is unique (likely with
the quotes): if you change for instance "car" by "auto", also "care"
will be changed into "autoe", and "scar" into "sauto". The remedy is
to include a space (or spaces) to make it unique (replace " car " by "
auto ").
