Error 554 5.7.1, actually; this is the remote mail server telling your mail
server that there is a problem. Since you did not grace us with the verbose
component of the error message, we can only guess at the cause. However,
your comment that the email will sometimes not be rejected suggests that the
recipient mailbox may be full. Next time you get this message, call your
correspondent and tell them to clean out their Inbox.
