Outlook 2003 not saving password

Hello, I'm running Windows XP Pro and Outlook 2003. Recently I purchased a
PDA and moved to Outlook from outlook express. It transferred my email and
email accounts. But I can't get it to save my passwords to my accounts. I
found the article on Microsoft, created a new profile, deleted the key in the
registry, created a new pst, and started outlook in safe mode all with no
luck. Also if the article says it's for OE and Outlook, but OE seems to be
fine and saving passwords. Also I created another account on the machine and
in that account Outlook saves the passwords just fine. I just need it to save
the passwords.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Sean

What happens when you delete and recreate the account?

Re: Outlook 2003 not saving password

Thanks for your quick response and trying to help me.
Are you asking what happens when I delete the new user account or the email
account?
I've deleted the new user account and recreated it, the saving of passwords
works either way in the new account but not in original account that I need
it to work.
I've also tried deleting the email accounts, there are 2, and recreating
them but it still will not save the password. I also created a account that I
didn't have in OE and was not transferred, and it won't save the password in
that one 2. All this in the account I need it to work.

Does your PDA also require a password?

Re: Outlook 2003 not saving password

The PDA doen't recive any mail, it only syncs. I can read the mail on the pda
with no problems. And it doen't have a security password either.

Re: Outlook 2003 not saving password

I know it has to be user specific because it works in a new user account. But
I don't know where else to look in the registry beside the protected
provider. Maybe something outlook did when it moved the accounts from OE
broke the password management in outlook.
Please help this is very annoying.
Thanks

Re: Outlook 2003 not saving password

So I still haven’t gotten it. I recently tried upgrading the outlook to 2007
but it didn't help. I don't think it the protected provider because outlook
express works. I did try deleting it but it didn't help. I also tried
everything in the knowledge base with no luck. I know it has to be
specifically with the account, because I made a new account and if saves
passwords fine. Does anyone know anywhere else to check?
Thanks

I have exactly the same problem and was wondering if you had found a solution?
