HTML not displaying properly

Some of the HTML email I recieve does not display in HTML. Some HTML email
will display correctly, some is converted to text but I have the option of
viewing it as HTML, but some is shown in text with no option to view it as
HTML. IS there a setting I can change to allow me to view all HTML email as
HTML?

Re: HTML not displaying properly

Probably, but without any configuration information you'll have to find it
for yourself or consult the help files of Outlook and your 3rd party
security suite.

You don't supply any information, so nobody is able to help you.

RE: HTML not displaying properly

I have the same type of issue. I'm not sure why no one is replying helpfully.
Perhaps they need to know the version or certain settings under options, but
I don't see this type of dismissal on other requests for help that provide no
additional configuration info.

In my case, I am running Outlook 2003 SP2 and recently installed the Office
2007 Compatibility Pack. I also installed Service Pack 3 for Windows XP and
Internet Explorer 7 so I'm not certain what did what. In any case, many web
magazine emails in HTML are no longer displaying properly. The HTML code is
often displaying, especially for images instead of the way it always
displayed (as they want it to) before. I read that this is a security
"feature" of Outlook 2007. Did the Office 2007 Compatibility Pack do this or
was I blessed with this feature from one of the other updates?

I did read the following reply concerning an issue that sound similar, if
not he same, as mine (relates to Outlook 2003). You might want to take a look
at the KB anyway:

Known problem. Expect a publically-available hotfix soon. In the meantime
you still might be able to get it if you call Microsoft at 1-800-936-4900,
press 3 for hotfixes, and tell them you're looking for the hotfix described
in KB951982.

RE: HTML not displaying properly

I share Doug and John's frustrations on lack of help from one of the MVPs on
this issue....I posted a request myself the other day and have found a number
of threads with the same problem--HTML messages are displayed automatically
as plain text when previously the same HTML messages from the same sources
were displayed properly in HTML.

In my case, I am running Outlook 2003, IE 7 and about two weeks ago had an
automatic security update sent to my machine...since then I have had the
problem. I did not change a setting, have restored default settings, tried
everything suggested in every Help from Outlook to IE. To make it even more
frustrating I downloaded and installed Service Pack 3 for Outlook two days
ago and suddenly the HTML messages were displayed properly for about 4 hours
and now have reverted back to plain text. Annoying doesn't begin to do
justice to this frustration.

Like John and Doug, I am frustrated that one of the MVPs that monitor this
newsgroup as not jumped in to say either there is a fix or it is a known
problem without a fix or something. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to
understand that if nothing changed on my machine and a security update was
sent out something got changed that shouldn't have....what can be done to
reset--especially when Outlook will work properly for a time.

RE: HTML not displaying properly

I have been having the same problem. Some of my emails suddenly switched to
text format. A few can be viewed by using a link, but I have found that most
of the links go to an error page. (Not a valid link). I called Microsoft and
was told that first my office 2003 was not validated when it was, then was
told since I was using Professional for a home-based business, they cant help.

I am running Office Professional 2003 w SP3, Windows XP SP2, IE7, and AVG
Free. This all started with a security update. I uninstalled IE and Office,
cleaned my registry, reinstalled the programs, and the problem is back. As
for Microsoft Support, I can see why some people are going with MAC and
Linux.

I have verified that my email settings are set for view HTML, but some work
and some dont. Some are ok one day and back to txt format the next. It gets
really annoying considering the amount of money that we spend for the
software to be treated this way.

HELP!!!!
