2005 Express and the Client Tools
Our shop is all SS 2000 SP4. But I need to study for the new MCITP exam for
Sql Server 2005. On my work computer I have both the 2000 and 2005 client tools. So I've got the client tools to help me study for the exam. But how can get an actual 2005 server on my work computer to help study for the exam? (Because, believe it or not, I can't get anyone to find me a spot to do a separate 2005 install.) I need something that is the equivalent of 2000 Personal Server. So would I have to actually uninstall the 2005 client tools and then install Express 2005 on my laptop? Or is there a way to get the 2005 Express server without uninstalling the 2005 client tools that I already have? |

You could download a trial version of 2005 or the Express version (freely distributable). Michael MacGregor Database Architect |

No. You can install the server without the client tools.
