Plantronics unveils bluetooth headsets in India Delhi, Apr 13: Plantronics Inc. the world leader in communications headsets, today unveiled its new wireless headset range targeted at technology enthusiasts and style-conscious individuals. The range comprises four trendy and ultra-modern headsets – Plantronics Voyage 510, Pulsar 590A, Plantronics Discovery 640 and Plantronics Explorer 320.

With this launch, Plantronics has introduced the industry’s first ever headsets (Plantronics Voyager, Pulsar and Discovery) with the unique ability to switch between different Bluetooth devices like laptops, mobile phones and music gadgets. This provides users with the flexibility to talk on their mobile phone and also pursue different activities such as listening to music, talking on the phone or watching a movie.

The Plantronics Voyager 510 Office Headset System is a multipoint Bluetooth system that provides business professionals with enhanced productivity benefits through its ability to seamlessly switch between a landline telephone and any voice-enabled Bluetooth device like a mobile phone or soft phone, at the touch of a button. The Plantronics Pulsar 590A is a Bluetooth stereo headset that lets users listen wirelessly to music and movies on devices like the Apple iPod, Sony PSP etc., with excellent audio quality, and switch seamlessly to mobile phone calls with the touch of a button. Discovery 640 is one of the smallest Bluetooth headsets on the market and allows effortless switching between different Bluetooth-enabled devices; and Explorer 320 is an entry level Bluetooth headset with an intuitive joystick control to answer and end calls. The products will be available in April at all major retail outlets in the country. The range is priced between Rs. 3,000 and Rs. 16,000.

Commenting on the products, Bobby Joseph, Country Manager, for Plantronics India said, “Headsets have today become more than just accessories. Reiterating Plantronics’ commitment to the Indian market, Bobby Joseph said, “With more than 500 Wi-Fi hotspots, 93 million mobile subscribers, and notebook shipments of approximately five million, the Indian consumer has truly gone mobile. The present day Indian consumer is style conscious and desires the very best in design and functionality. With our heightened focus on Bluetooth and the new product range, we are now in a position to cement our leadership in the Indian communication headsets market.” Few of the Plactonics caegories are given below:-

The Plantronics Voyager 510S Office Headset System is a multipoint Bluetooth system that provides business professionals with a single wireless headset to seamlessly switch between a landline telephone and Bluetooth-enabled mobile phones at the touch of a button. The system comprises the Voyager 510 Bluetooth headset and a base unit, which Bluetooth-enables any desk telephone whilst also charging the headset.

When paired with a mobile phone, calls can be taken from the landline or the mobile phone using a single headset. The headset is extremely comfortable for all-day wear, offers superior sound quality and a noise-canceling microphone for clearer voice transmission. The swivel boom can be used on either ear and folds away for easy storage. It offers up to 6 hours talk-time and 100 hours stand-by time and weighs only 15 grams. The Voyager 510 Office Headset System is priced at Rs. 16,000.

Available with a universal Bluetooth audio adapter, the Pulsar 590 provides immediate wireless compatibility for any device with a headphone jack, such as laptops, home stereos, MP3 players including Apple iPods, and multimedia devices such as Sony PSP. The product is fashioned in the familiar headband style with pivoting ear cushions for comfortable all-day wear. The portable, lightweight headset features a full range of accessories, including a desktop charging stand, AC charger, USB charging cable, in-flight cable and travel case. The in-flight cable allows the headset to be used with the Bluetooth radio disabled, a requirement for most airline travel.

The Plantronics Discovery 640 Bluetooth weighs only 9 grams and is one of the smallest Bluetooth headsets on the market. Built with high-quality materials and finish, the headset features an innovative cradle charging system that gives up to 15 hours talk-time and includes an incoming call vibrate alert. It is based on Bluetooth version 1.2 software and includes multipoint connectivity for seamless switching between Bluetooth-enabled devices. Not only is this the most discreet headset within the Plantronics Bluetooth range, but its added benefits also include a variety of unique charging options and 60 hours stand-by time. The headset also allows users the freedom to roam up to 10 metres from their Bluetooth device. Complementing its sleek and stylish design, the headset comes with a streamlined carrying case for storing all accessories including 4 phone adapters (Nokia, Siemens, Samsung and Sony Ericsson), battery charger, ear-gels and lightweight charger.

The Explorer 320 is Plantronics’ latest entry level headset designed to offer freedom, flexibility and comfort at an affordable price. The stylish design is paired with easy-to-use functions whilst delivering all the advantages of a Bluetooth headset. Featuring up to 10 hours talk time, 240 hours standby time, and an intuitive joystick control to answer and finish calls, this headset is easy to handle and gives users increased mobility. The Explorer is intuitive with an easy-to-use, single button control. Weighing only 17 grams, it boasts a compact and slim design, missed calls and battery charge level indicators, a comfortable ear-loop that swivels for use on either ear, lithium battery technology, Bluetooth V1.2 and a 2 year warranty.
