I'd vote for a 6680 over a 6280 .. primarily because the later is a Series 40 phone .. and being a Series 60 user i know what that phone misses .... good display (262k , 320*240) and 2 MP camera can wait .... ....

6280:
+great display
+3G
+good video, fm radio
+compact
+2MP camera with good quality , but very slow
+Cool slide design
+Nice sound quality
-software problems (not faced by all)

6680:
+symbian OS series 60
+A good and stable software interface
+This phone has been around for longer time and hence is "tried & tested"
-phone design is a bit oldish
-Normal camera , nothing special (but you do have cool apps)
-Ringtone volume is a bit weaker

If you are buying the phone only for multimedia purposes and do not intend to install any extra application then 6280 is the way to go . But if you are interested in modding your phone and installing lots of apps like notepad, winrar etc etc then 6680 will be the best choice ....

well..if thats what you feel .. then i should have said " compacter than 6680 (4/5th of 6680)"

These are all but relative opinions based on the user , and i haven't even used either but have seen then quite closely ...

yes yes no doubt 6280 has more compact design than 6680/6681....
i really know it bcoz one of my frnd has it.....no doubt it has a powerful camera...n ability of d new technology ie 3G....(dont know when india will have 3G...really waiting for it).......but it definately lacks in s40....it wuld had been a best phone if it was s60 model.....
BUT this nokia people know business very well, they never launch a piece which has all features in it..theres always a catch somewhere....may be price, may be other things.....

and that whats pisses me about Nokia .. the only "perfect" phones you get are around 25000 and above .... but the 6681 and 6630 are quite good as all-rounders ...

3G is a classification .. not a directed approach ... the current so called 3G phones support around 384 kbps download speeds .... while compare it to other countries like . say Australia .. there .. a 3G network gives around 1.4 Mbps total bandwidth each ... with simultaneous upload and download .... thats 3G ... what we could have in india is nothing more than a Exended EDGE network ... moreover 3G would require a complete shift of data transmission type ... the slowest 3G network , the XCDMA (or maybe WCDMA , don't exactly remember) is totally different from a standard GSM network .. so introducing 3G would mean u'll probably have to throw away ur current phones ....

Also .. i literally hate 2 MP cameras ... simple reason .. put the res. to 1600*1200 , and image quality to high ... then take a picture ... u'll see that the picture is taken after 4-5s of the original click .... thats quite a lag ... and to speed things up u need to come back to good ole' 640*480 with high iq ... then what the diff. with a 1.3 MP camera then ??

And about "perfect" phones ... u can never have one ... invest as much as u wan't u can't get a perfect phone ....
